True public safety is built on trust, prevention, and accountability. I will advocate for community-led safety initiatives that address the root causes of violence—poverty, lack of housing, and limited access to mental health services—while ensuring transparency and accountability in law enforcement. Safety in Ward 4 should mean safety for everyone, regardless of their background.
After the city decided to clear out homeless encampments, Marvina along with other protesters and people experiencing homelessness came to City Hall to protest the city's decision to do so.
"So we asked them, 'Where should the people go?'" said Marvina before she got on the Metro Transit tracks.

"We're begging of these people to give us housing and resources," Marvina said.
